Enjoy Your Florida Honeymoon On The Beach!

For a Florida honeymoon imagine… warm sunny days, gorgeous beaches, romantic walks at sunset, and activities galore! What better way to relax, have fun, and enjoy each other after your wedding.

Favorite Honeymoon Spots

Key West: You can stay right on Duval Street at the Pier House Resort and Caribbean Spa (private beach included) in Old Town and walk to the famous Hog’s Breath Saloon, Sloppy Joe’s and the Bagatelle Restaurant (an Old Sea Captain’s home). There are lot’s of great sidewalk cafés, restaurants and pubs in Key West!

Key West is great place to enjoy the beauty and nature of the Keys.
Snorkel, sail and see a beautiful sunset from a catamaran (been there, loved it)…take a seaplane or ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park for the day (amazing site for snorkeling or diving)…go deep sea fishing or Flats fishing…play Golf or Kayak on an Eco-Tour… rent a Wave-runner, go Parasailing, and go Snuba diving(no dive certification required).

Visit Mallory Square for the sunset celebration; you’ll get a kick out of the performer’s and street vendors. And of course, the sunset is always amazing!

And if you still looking for more to do, the art galleries, theaters, and museums are not to be missed. We stayed for a week on our last visit, and had plenty to keep us busy. And after all, you are on your honeymoon!

Cool Tip: You really don’t need a car in Key West: You can rent a scooter like we did (it was a blast). There are pedicabs, motorcycle and bicycle rentals, train tours, and a shuttle service from Miami. You can even get married in Ft. Meyer’s and take the Key West Express to Key West.
To learn more, visit Key West.

Miami Beaches: You can stay in South Beach at one of many Art Deco boutique hotels; we’re talking cool, chic, and trendy! There are also many great hotel chains like the Marriott, Hilton and the Ritz-Carlton on South Beach and the surrounding areas.

Enjoy South Beach (topless allowed) by day, world class shopping galore, art galleries, museums…. and hundreds of nightclubs and amazing restaurants (we’re in food lover’s heaven here) by night.  Walk, ride a scooter, bike, skate, or take a Duck Tour through this Art Deco Historical Gem.

If you’re looking for a more quite, peaceful time on your Florida honeymoon, check out Key Biscayne. You can enjoy your own paradise island experience and be close to “hot” spots like; South Beach, Haulover Beach (nude sunbathing optional at north end), Hobie Beach (great inlet for windsurfing), Virginia Key in Key Biscayne(great beach for solitude), Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Aventura, Bal Harbour and more!

Cool Tip: Book the ocean view if you can afford the splurge, it’s so worth it! And if your hotel has a private balcony, ask for that too. This is a great way to enjoy the full beach experience; it’s still a must for us when we take a beach trip. Think about it, how many honeymoons are you planning?

Miami and its beaches have so many amazing places to visit that I can’t possibly do it justice in just a few paragraphs! So, if you want the full scoop on planning your Florida honeymoon in Miami, read more at the  Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
