One of the most romantic beaches…Amelia Island!
With it’s location near the border of Georgia, the Island has a true “southern” feel.
The live oaks, Spanish moss, salt marshes, sea oats, sand dunes and shrimp fleets (best shrimp you’ll ever eat) all remind me of my youth. My first love of beaches started as a young girl, when I lived near the coast of the Sea Islands in Georgia. Amelia Island is part of over 100 of those islands that stretch from South Carolina to Northern Florida on the Atlantic Coast.

Where Are The Most Romantic Beaches?
The most romantic beaches in Florida are all around. Whether it’s a stay in a quaint beach cottage for two, or an ocean view from a luxury hotel…there’s a beach here for all of you “lovebirds” out there!
A Few of My Faves:
St. Augustine: is a great spot for a romantic Florida getaway! St. Augustine Beach,Crescent Beach,Vilano Beach, and Anastasia State Park are all part of the beautiful 40 miles of coastline in St. John’s County, Florida.
Stay right on the beach in a cottage. Or,enjoy an ocean view from your Jacuzzi suite at one of the many great hotels.
You can horseback ride and drive your car on the beach (in certain locations). The wildlife in the area is amazing. You may spot Porpoise’s or even a North Atlantic Right Whale. When you can tear yourself away from some of the most romantic beaches in Florida, go to downtown St. Augustine (known as the “oldest” city). Take a horse drawn carriage ride, trolley tour or walk the cobblestone streets.
Discovered by the Spanish in 1565, the city is loaded with great historical landmarks like: Castillo de San Marcos…the oldest stone fort in the U.S. and The Spanish Quarter Village…a living history museum depicting life in colonial times. You’ll have fun drinking Continue reading »
